Feuchtwanger and Judaism, History, Imagination, Exile (Feuchtwanger Studies 6 (2019)) focuses on the author’s approaches to Jewish history, Zionism, and Jewish identity as expressed through his historical novels and essays.

The volume was launched in November 2019 to mark the start of the ‘Exile and Resistance’ lecture series at the University of Southern California.

The following article in the volume gives an introduction to Josephus (1932): ‘Caught between Cultures: Lion Feuchtwanger’s Flavius Josephus’.

Feuchtwanger Studies 6 also contains essays in the broader fields of exile studies and Jewish studies.
