Lion Feuchtwanger’s private library of historic books, used as primary sources for many of his novels, was well to the fore in a recent Villa Aurora Los Angeles event about his secretary Hilde Waldo and his work methods. The private library also featured prominently in the 2008 TV documentary Feuchtwanger lebt!

Most of the private library is now held at the Feuchtwanger Memorial Library at the University of Southern California, while several thousand volumes are on permanent loan to Villa Aurora Los Angeles.
